I've been working on this model of a US Army Blackhawk Helicopter for quite some time and I feel that it's almost finished.
It'll require some texturing, but that's something that I'll get to later as modeling is really my strong point, not texturing.
I
modeled the helicopter in different stages to allow for more detail. I
started with the main fuselage and then modeled each other separate
element within separate scenes.
The
engines and roof, the main rotor and turbine and the tail rotor along
with the sliding side doors and sliding side windows, the roof beacon
light and the front and rear landing gear were all created individually
and imported into the main scene, before being parented with the
fuselage.
Formula One Car
I have been modeling a Formula One car as part of a morph animation that I am working on.
The car Model is based on the Jordan-Mugen-Honda EJ10 F1 Car of 2000. However it features much of Ferrari's F1 texturing, including colouring and sponsorship branding, with some adjustments to fit the older shape of the car.
I decided upon this design because the Ferrari F1 team have a much more popular and recognisable colour scheme. The driver's helmet is based loosely on Lewis Hamilton's helmet of the 2008 season, the differences being the sponsorship badges and of course less shape detail.
Modeling a Boeing 737
I modeled this Boeing 737-200 aircraft with some help from SoftImage XSI's rotoscope option.
I then used the loft tool, which creates a polygon mesh using the curves as a frame.
The remainder of the plane; wings, tail and engines were modeled from polymesh primitive shapes; rescaled and reshaped to fit the specific fixtures of the aircraft.
House Scene Proxy Model
Below is an image of a camera match and proxy model that I did using SoftImage XSI, for some basic effects work.
The models aren't too detailed, but I have the horizon lined up pretty much dot-on and I have the basic shapes in place to create realistic obstacles for the particle systems to effectively interact with the environment.
I will add various effects to this scene including fire, smoke, rain and snow; all of which will be subjected to different simulated forces such as wind, turbulence and gravity.
